Help turn the expertise of the pharmacology community into stronger policy and better support for members as the British Pharmacological Society delivers its new strategy.
Who we are
The British Pharmacological Society advances the science of medicines to improve health and patient care. We bring together more than 5,000 members across over 60 countries, connecting people working in research, healthcare, industry and regulation. Our journals enable researchers to share discoveries. Our meetings and educational activities support collaboration and professional development. We also draw on members’ knowledge to inform policy on medicines and their use.
Our 2026 to 2030 strategy, Towards 100 Years, guides our work ahead of our centenary in 2031. We want to strengthen our scientific contribution, broaden participation in the Society and sustain the resources that make this work possible.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
