Location

Field based: significant amount of UK & some European travel

Warehousing and distribution route to market for On Trade Free Trade and National Pub Company deliveries.

About this role

Leader of the Secondary Logistics function. Delivery of high-quality service, performance standards to Carlsberg Britvic and customer and a clear focus on safety excellence. Direct team includes Transport Compliance team covering primary and secondary, support for continuing our high standards journey and regional managers.

Key responsibilities

People Management

  • Leader of the Secondary logistics function, providing direction, building functional capability and the talent pipeline whilst delivering high performance.
  • Develop and nurture senior customer relationships as required to support the commercial functions.
  • Collaborate with strategy team, to identify improvement opportunities and manage these through to completion.
  • Close relationship with Primary team to enable fit for future supply and ensure current ER stakeholders are engaged consistently across both networks.

Process Management

  • Building and delivery of Strategic & Annual Plan for Secondary logistics to include latest thinking, improvement and feeding the productivity pipeline.
  • Accountable for ensuring ‘what we offer we deliver’.

Performance Management

  • Providing absolute clarity on the overall secondary delivery proposition across the organisation – clear SLA’s, KPIs and measurement.
  • Partner with VP’s and identified stakeholders to deliver service excellence.
  • Set and reach volume targets, communicate performance clearly to the customer and broader CMBC.

Functional Specific Management

  • Key leader in the business with direct ownership for all things related to Secondary logistics.
  • Manage organisational change – stand-up leadership to deliver what is required for optimum wider business objectives.
  • Push for improvement, and do not accept poor performance or service.
  • Delivering performance excellence and improvement across Safety, Service, People, and Cost.
  • Deliver a future-ready customer proposition.

Knowledge, skills & experience required

  • Experience of leading large teams – building skills and capability of the organization whilst motivating and inspiring teams.
  • Able to build and support execution and standards in the organization – bringing clear focus for a multi-site operation.
  • Performance and results focused – able to guide the organization to deliver against challenging targets and timescales.
  • Committed to the business and focused on delivering a future focused, modern network for the organization.
  • Intellectual horsepower to be able to work cross functionally and lead/contribute support the customer propositions.
  • Results oriented with a commitment to managing initiatives and delivering on all commitments.
  • Ability to build relationships, inspire people and implement change in the organisation –delivering people and organisation change in an engaging and fair manner.
  • Leading our key Union partnerships.
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity with optimism and steadiness.
  • Disciplined and focused approach to work – able to move from concept to action at the right time and able to keep self and teams focused on the right priorities.
  • High levels of Initiative - Agile/Street Smart/Entrepreneurial to respond to changes in the market or internally.
  • Able to pass accountability down the structure and enable teams to perform their part of the business without unnecessary interference.
