Our Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) combines cutting-edge robotics, AI, and IoT within our advanced CFCs (Customer Fulfilment Centres). We've mastered the single pick, transforming online delivery for our global partners. Join us and be part of a team pushing the boundaries of retail technology.

About the Role

Ocado Group is seeking a visionary, tech-forward Director of Tax to lead our high-performing, award-winning Group Tax team.

Highly regarded across the business, our tax function is already pioneering automation, but we are ready to take it to the next level. In this strategic leadership role, you will build on a rock-solid foundation, leading the charge in embedding AI, advanced automation, and intelligent data workflows into our daily operations—all while maintaining the commercial rigour, control, and strategic counsel a global listed group requires.

Heading a talented international team, you will take full end-to-end accountability for tax compliance, governance, and reporting across Ocado Group’s UK and global entities.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Elevating the Team

    • Lead, coach, and inspire a highly respected, multi-disciplinary tax team across UK and international tax matters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and digital empowerment.

  • Pioneering AI, Automation & Process Excellence

    • Define and execute the next-generation tax technology roadmap, partnering with Finance Data and IT colleagues to research, select, and deploy cutting-edge AI and automation tools.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to streamline compliance, forecasting, and data manipulation, eliminating routine manual tasks wherever possible.
    • Continuously challenge the status quo, seeking out process efficiencies to ensure the team remains agile, lean, and focused on high-value work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
