About SPORTIME
Since 1994, SPORTIME has been proud to operate the finest tennis and sports facilities in New York State. SPORTIME’s 20 club locations most recently expanded to include the iconic Port Washington Tennis Academy, now SPORTIME Port Washington. SPORTIME currently offers 192 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 131 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms, and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester, and in the NY Capital Region. SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, pickleball, sports, and camp facilities and programs, including the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) and SPORTIME Volleyball Club (VBC). SPORTIME clubs serve individuals of every age and athletic ability, 365 days a year.
Job Summary
Lead the development, refinement, and implementation of tennis programming to maximize revenue, manage related expenses at targeted levels, and reflect the high standards of excellence that we have established for all SPORTIME programs and services. Build a cohesive, loyal, and effective team of tennis coaches/instructors. Work closely with the GM and other department heads to maximize club profitability and member satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage and assure bottom-line profitability of all tennis programming
- Provide the highest quality coaching/instruction in a safe, welcoming environment
- Recruit and hire qualified coaches/teaching professionals
- Train, mentor, and team-build staff of coaches/instructors around all relevant pedagogic and administrative matters daily, through weekly team meetings and beyond
- Mentor and be a resource for our youngest coaches to build a positive and sustainable coach culture
- Attend and contribute to Directors of Tennis Meetings
- Actively report to the site GM
- Provide personalized, concierge-type consultation to all members relating to tennis programming and training
- Promote the sports and fitness branches of our company
- Be knowledgeable regarding USTA, UTR, ITF, and other competitive activities for adults and juniors
- Attend sales, orientation, and other trainings and meetings when necessary or required
- Support and attend relevant special events hosted by our Company
- Support and promote the Company's marketing initiatives
- Pro-Shop Management (placing orders; keeping track of inventory)
- Oversee Summer Excel Tennis Camp and Intersession Excel Tennis Camps

Compensation Range
$67,000 per year plus 15-20 hours per week of on-court earnings

- Member Benefits: Employees receive complimentary Sportime membership and are eligible to use club facilities, including tennis, fitness, and sports, to participate in club programs on a complimentary or discounted basis, and to receive discounts on retail and other purchases.
- Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Full-Time employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s group health, dental, and vision insurance plans on the first day of the month after they have worked 60 days. Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employees’ gross pay; Sportime contributes to the premiums of employees based upon gross pay thresholds.
- 401(k) Plan with Employer Match: Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old.
