Director of Transport

Cappagh Group of Companies

London and the South East - Full time, permanent

Cappagh is a utility, civil engineering and aggregates business of around 800 people. We deliver clean water, waste water and gas infrastructure work for clients including SGN, Thames Water, Portsmouth Water and Southern Water. We produce more than 1.5 Million Tonnes of aggregate every year, much of which is used in high profile projects across London and the Southeast. Our fleet is what keeps our people and teams on the road and our clients served, and we are looking for a Director of Transport to take it forward.

The role

You will lead and develop our team of Transport Managers and own the strategy for fleet compliance across the business. We want someone who will look at where we are today, set out a clear plan for where we need to be, and then make it happen.

This is not a role for someone who only wants to sit at the top and manage from a distance. You will be a natural leader, but you will also be happy to roll your sleeves up, get out to the depots and do some of the doing yourself when it is needed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
