Director of Wholesale & Speciality Finance

We are partnering with an established UK investment platform to appoint a Director of Wholesale & Speciality Finance as part of its continued growth. The platform provides structured funding to specialist lenders and alternative credit strategies and is looking to strengthen execution capability at Director level.

Description

This is a core hire within a lean, senior team, offering meaningful responsibility across origination, structuring and ongoing management of wholesale facilities.

The Director will play a key role in executing and managing wholesale funding activity, working closely with senior investment and finance leadership. Responsibilities include:

  • Originating and structuring wholesale facilities, including block, revolving and bespoke funding solutions
  • Leading transactions from initial assessment through credit approval, documentation and drawdown
  • Managing relationships with funders, borrowers, legal advisers and other external stakeholders
  • Assessing loan portfolios, collateral performance, cash flows and risk structures
  • Preparing and presenting materials for internal investment committee and funder discussions
  • Supporting the evolution of the platform's funding relationships as activity scales

Candidate Profile

This role will suit a Director-level professional currently operating within:

  • A bank or challenger bank
  • A specialist or structured finance provider
  • A financial institutions or speciality lending team

You are likely to bring:

  • Proven experience structuring and executing wholesale or speciality finance facilities
  • Strong credit fundamentals and comfort operating in credit and risk forums
  • Experience supporting non-bank lenders, specialist lenders or alternative credit platforms
  • A pragmatic, execution-focused approach and the ability to operate in a lean environment
