Position Summary
The Director of Operational Efficiency & Technology Innovation will focus on advancing artificial intelligence and emerging technologies across MMS by building cross-functional strategies that improve operational efficiency, quality, and business outcomes. This role will partner closely with operational service line leaders to identify opportunities for AI adoption, drive organizational change, and implement innovative technology solutions while ensuring appropriate governance and regulatory compliance.

Core Responsibilities
- Technology Innovation: Drive the evaluation, development, and implementation of AI, machine learning, automation, and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and innovation across all MMS service lines.
- Process and Automation Efficiency: Focus on efficiency and quality gains through process optimization and automation (e.g., cost savings, speed to delivery, enhanced quality, improved employee experience, and scalable operations).
- Governance and Compliance: Serve as a key opinion leader on the AI Steering Committee. Partner with Quality, Regulatory, IT, and business leaders to establish AI governance, risk management frameworks, validation approaches, and compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with operational service line leaders and Data Science team to identify technology opportunities, drive AI adoption, and lead change management initiatives across multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Biometrics, Medical Writing, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, and other operational functions).
- External Engagement: Represent MMS in industry consortiums, scientific conferences, client meetings, and strategic technology partnerships related to AI, automation, and digital transformation.

Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology innovation, operational excellence, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
- Significant hands-on experience driving AI strategy, implementing AI technologies, AI agents, automation, or machine learning solutions within an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation technologies, and their practical application to improve business operations.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, healthcare, or another regulated industry is strongly preferred.
- Technical experience or understanding of clinical trial implementation, biometrics, or related operational functions is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to anticipate and effectively resolve complex business and client challenges.
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience with a proven ability to drive organizational change and innovation.
