Director, Payroll & Workforce Management Technology
Location: Virtual Based - Flexible across the UK and EU
Employment: Permanent
The Job:
Are you ready to lead the technology behind a global workforce? We are looking for a strategic and forward-thinking leader to drive our Payroll & Workforce Management Technology agenda across a complex manufacturing organisation. This is an opportunity to own the roadmap for critical platforms including UKG Workforce Manager and ADP Payroll, delivering integrated, scalable, and compliant solutions that support employees around the world. Working at the intersection of HR, Payroll, Operations, and IT, you will help shape the future of workforce technology in a fast-moving global business.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the technology strategy and roadmap for Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Workforce Management, aligned to HR, Payroll, and business priorities.
- Serve as the senior IT leader for payroll and workforce management platforms across a global manufacturing environment.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a global team of IT professionals across delivery, support, architecture, and operations.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and transformation initiatives across platforms including Workday, UKG, ADP, ERP, and reporting tools.
- Ensure reliable, compliant, and scalable operations for payroll, timekeeping, attendance, and workforce data processes supporting both hourly and salaried employees.
- Partner closely with HR, Payroll, Operations, plant stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver solutions that support complex manufacturing requirements.
- Establish strong governance, service management, controls, and risk practices to protect payroll-critical operations, employee data, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, process harmonization, better reporting, and adoption of new technology capabilities.

The Person:
- Experience leading Payroll, Time & Attendance, Workforce Management, and related HR technology capabilities within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong leadership experience developing and supporting teams across areas such as applications, architecture, delivery, and operational support.
- Proven ability to support manufacturing or industrial operations, including environments with large hourly employee populations.
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as UKG Workforce Manager and ADP Payroll.
- Strong understanding of integrations across HCM, timekeeping, payroll, ERP, identity, and reporting ecosystems, including APIs and enterprise integration tools.
- Sound knowledge of payroll, timekeeping, attendance, scheduling, labour rules, compliance, controls, audit, and data privacy requirements.
- Ability to lead large-scale change, manage vendors and priorities, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across IT, HR, Payroll, and Operations.
