Director of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Strategy & Delivery

As Director of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Strategy & Delivery, you will provide centralized leadership and oversight of PPI activities within the assigned Group. This leadership role serves as the primary point of contact for PPI, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and driving a consistent, scalable approach to continuous improvement.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, scalability, and measurable business impact across the organization. You will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to build sustainable continuous improvement capabilities while driving successful execution of high-priority initiatives. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide transformation, establish best practices, and help teams achieve measurable results through continuous improvement and disciplined execution.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define and implement governance frameworks, operating models, and prioritization mechanisms to manage a growing portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align PPI activities with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the integration of PPI methodologies into core workflows to improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and business performance.
  • Oversee a portfolio of initiatives while providing direct program and project management support for complex or high-impact efforts.
  • Establish standards, tools, performance metrics, and reporting mechanisms to increase visibility, accountability, and sustainability of improvements.
  • Champion Practical Process Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies across the organization.
  • Drive organizational change by coaching leaders and teams, building continuous improvement capabilities, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Ensure initiatives are appropriately prioritized, resourced, executed, and measured to deliver meaningful and measurable outcomes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and alignment in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Support implementation activities requiring travel up to 50%.

What We Look For

  • Advanced degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in operations, biopharmaceuticals, clinical development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience operating at the Director level, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong expertise in Practical Process Improvement (PPI), Lean Six Sigma, or comparable continuous improvement methodologies with a proven record of delivering measurable results.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver complex initiatives, including establishing governance frameworks, operating models, and scalable processes.
  • Strong program and project management skills, including portfolio prioritization, execution, and delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience working in matrixed organizations with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive alignment, and coach and develop teams.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to align initiatives to organizational goals and value drivers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills with a structured, data-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with project management and process improvement tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience building or scaling continuous improvement programs within a global organization preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP, ISO, and other relevant quality standards preferred.
