Director / Managing Director – Private Equity Origination & Business Development

The Opportunity
Our client, a growing international advisory firm, is looking to appoint an experienced Director / Managing Director to join its Business Development team and lead the development of relationships across the Private Equity market.
This is a senior, highly client-facing position focused on PE coverage, origination and revenue generation. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with private equity funds and their deal teams, identifying new opportunities and developing long-term, repeat business.
Candidates must have direct Private Equity coverage experience from an Origination, Business Development or Client Coverage team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with Private Equity funds and deal teams
- Originate new business opportunities and convert relationships into revenue
- Build new senior-level relationships across the PE and M&A community
- Manage and grow existing client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business
- Re-engage dormant clients and develop new lines of work
- Lead proactive client outreach and wider business development initiatives
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a high-quality client experience
- Develop a strong understanding of clients, investment strategies and evolving requirements

The Candidate
We are looking for a senior, commercially minded professional with:
- Direct PE coverage experience within an Origination, Business Development or Client Coverage team – essential
- A strong and established network across Private Equity funds and deal teams
- A demonstrable track record of originating and winning new business
- Strong knowledge of the Private Equity and M&A ecosystem
- Experience developing senior client relationships and generating repeat revenue
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
- A commercial, proactive and entrepreneurial approach

Candidates could potentially come from professional services, management consulting, investment banking, corporate intelligence or another deal-related advisory environment, provided they have a strong track record of direct PE origination and coverage.
