The Role
Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking a Director, Product Management & Business Development to work out of its new office space in Endicott, NY.
The Director, Product Management & Business Development plays a key role in setting the business unit's strategic direction for product development and market/target identification. As such, the position requires a forward-looking individual who can effectively translate customer demands and market trends into an effective, internal capture plan.
The key responsibilities of this Director, Product Management & Business Development include, but are not limited to:
- Review and map key market segments and sub-segments
- Identify and map key OEMs and subcontractors
- Define Amphenol product position within the Military High Speed market and identify resulting opportunities/gaps for new or legacy product expansion
- Define and implement a strategy to fill product, program and technology gaps through product development, positioning or acquisition
- Maintain current knowledge of market trends, new program activities, technology developments and industry committee activities
- Establish targets for the Amphenol sales team, product marketing and design/development engineering
- Promote opportunity-specific products to the broader aerospace market/customer base
- Set strategy and drive the strategy process
- Responsible for setting a clear vision and goals for a team of marketing and business development professionals; lead, develop, and continue to build that team.

Salary
$130,000 to $170,000
The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Director of Product Management & Business Development at Amphenol Military High Speed:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Marketing, or Business. MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of direct engineering, marketing or sales experience along with cable manufacturing, copper, and/or fiber optics experience within the military industry
- Previous experience leading people is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven record of translating customer requirements into development expectations – price, position, product
- Strong business and technical aptitude
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and other computer-related work
- The ability to travel frequently domestically and internationally as required
