Global Product Manager, Virtual Card Platform

Overview

Global Business-to-Business (B2B) payment flows represent a $125T opportunity. Most of it happens on non-card rails, representing tremendous growth opportunity for Mastercard’s Commercial Cards business. Accelerating the adoption of Commercial Payments is a strategic imperative for Mastercard, and this role is critical to our team meeting our growth aspirations.

The In Control platform for Commercial Payments (ICCP) and In Control for Business Travel (ICBT) are part of the Commercial Platform family that is responsible for delivering safe, smart, and simple payment solutions to middle and large market segments, supporting both travel (T&E) and B2B payments. The In Control platform (https://www.mastercard.com/incontroldemo/en/home.html) is a key to driving core brand and services revenue for the middle and large market commercial segments, supporting both T&E and B2B payments.

The Mastercard Product Management team leads the launch and delivery of the platform. As a member of this team, you will have the chance to shape and influence the platform using your customer insights and product development capabilities. As a Product Manager, you will become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the In Control platform and work closely with the engineering team and regional account teams to deliver world-class B2B payment products to Mastercard customers.

In addition, this role is heavily involved in defining the overall Platform vision, including enhancement support, testing, and release support.

The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Work closely with engineering scrum teams to deliver products that meet business requirements
  • Drive development of new products in anticipation of or response to customer needs, market trends, and competitive opportunities
  • Engage directly with regional teams to support partners and customers on product roadmap, product implementation, and demos
  • Generate and evaluate ideas to enhance Mastercard’s suite of product offerings and create a competitive advantage

Role

This role requires the successful candidate to:

  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications, ensuring mutual understanding between business/customers and engineering to deliver high-quality products
  • Interact successfully with Product, Technology, and Operations support staff to meet the needs of our customers
  • Develop deep knowledge of payment processing and the overall commercial business
  • Validate technical delivery and ensure that delivered functionality complies with the product requirements and is fit-for-purpose
  • Curiosity to develop a long-term vision for virtual card and tokenized payments to capture market share

Background preferred in one or more of the following:

  • Product management and development
  • Agile development
  • Customer engagement / Business development
  • Go-to-market planning and execution
  • Technology Development & Operations
  • Commercial payments
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships and delivering results with global, multi-cultural, and remote project teams
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to drive deep product insights from data
  • Ability to take independent action and be comfortable interacting with varying levels of leadership across the organization, both internal and external
  • Strong ability to interact with, influence, and build consensus across a variety of internal business units, external partners, and service providers
  • Familiarity with PME framework
  • UX/UI Design skill set not required but plus
  • Undergraduate degree required with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience. MBA preferred
