The Opportunity

Citi is seeking an exceptional, hands-on Product Manager to lead the charge in developing and launching transformative Generative AI capabilities for our Investor Services business.
This is a unique, forward-engineering role where you will operate at the intersection of product, operations, and technology, working in small, agile teams to bring groundbreaking AI solutions from conception to industrialization. You will not only define the "what" but drive and engage in the "how," leveraging your deep engineering and architectural background to drive cutting-edge prototypes into production within the Investor Services domain, ensuring seamless integration and optimization with existing enterprise platforms and adherence to policies and standards.
What you will do
- Partner and deliver on Investor Services AI strategy: Identify strategic opportunities for AI to solve critical business problems across Custody, Funds, Securities Finance and Data solutions.
- Problem Solving & Innovation: Act as a relentless problem solver, deeply understanding business challenges within Investor Services and translating them into innovative, AI-powered product solutions. Champion creative thinking, exploring uncharted territories to develop novel approaches.
- Deep Technical & Architectural Leadership: Possess comprehensive understanding the underlying AI models, scalable infrastructure, data pipelines, and deployment architectures. Work together with engineers and architects to guide technical design decisions, ensuring the scalability, performance, robustness, and architectural integrity of Generative AI solutions in a regulated financial environment.
- Discovery & Co-creation: Lead intensive discovery phases, collaborating closely with internal Investor Services clients, product, operations, and engineering teams to uncover needs, define use cases, and co-create rapid prototypes. Facilitate workshops and design sprints to refine concepts and gather feedback.
- Forward Engineering & Prototyping: Drive a forward-engineering mindset, constantly scanning the technology landscape for emerging Generative AI capabilities and tools. Experiment with new technologies, build proofs-of-concept, and rapidly iterate on prototypes to validate hypotheses relevant to Investor Services.
- Industrialize & Scale solutions: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions, from initial prototype to industrial-grade product. Define clear paths to production, ensuring solutions meet enterprise-grade requirements for security, compliance, reliability, and maintainability within Investor Services, maximizing the value derived from Citi's existing technology investments.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships and foster seamless collaboration with diverse teams including Data Scientists, AI Researchers, Software Engineers, Operations, within or supporting Investor Services.
- Market & Technology Acumen: Stay abreast of the rapidly evolving Generative AI landscape, including foundation models, tooling, ethical considerations, and competitive offerings. Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions, with a specific focus on their application and impact within Investor Services.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate product roadmaps, progress, and impact to executive leadership, business stakeholders within Investor Services, and engineering teams. Manage expectations and navigate trade-offs with transparency.

What we need from you
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Significant experience across product development and engineering with a significant portion focused on AI/ML-driven products, with heavy exposure in recent years to Generative AI.
- Deep Engineering and Architecture Expertise: Demonstrated ability to design, build, and scale complex software systems, including experience with cloud architectures, distributed systems, and modern software development practices. Proven experience in architecting AI/ML solutions, with a strong understanding of how to leverage and integrate with existing enterprise platforms and capabilities.
- Proven Problem Solver: A track record of identifying complex problems and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Creative Thinker: Ability to think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and envision disruptive possibilities with AI.
- Deep understanding of the Generative AI ecosystem, including frontier models, AI patterns, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and deployment strategies. Understands and appreciative of governance and control requirements to support a scalable and trustworthy suite of AI solutions.
- Experience working in agile product development environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Strong preference for experience within Investor Services or capital markets domain.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving technological landscape.
