About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director Program & Production Procurement CDMO / CMO to join our Global Procurement team. This role combines strategic vision with operational excellence, driving procurement strategies for CDMO and CMO services across both category and program dimensions (mainly in the field of Protein-based modalities (Ab/ADC)). The ideal candidate will combine acting as a strategic coordinator across multiple projects, ensuring seamless cross-category coordination and alignment with long-term business goals as well as a visionary leader of a team consisting of program managers. This role reports to the Senior Director Program & Production Procurement.
Your contribution:
Strategy & Demand:
- Drive the development and implementation of category strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders, such as CMC, ESO, Supply Chain, Legal and QA.
- Identify and assess global business needs, proactively engaging with the business to achieve company objectives.
- Manage demand and identify opportunities for cost optimization and procurement process improvements.
Planning & Sourcing:
- Integrate company requirements into supplier sourcing, selection, and contracting
Contract & Data Management:
- Lead supplier contract negotiations and manage contract life cycles.
- Analyze and track procurement/supplier data for better decision-making.
Supplier Lifecycle, Performance & Compliance:
- In close collaboration with CMC and ESO, improve supplier performance and mitigate risks, such as geopolitical, financial or compliance risks
- Oversee supplier lifecycle, from approval to offboarding, aligned with business stakeholders
- Ensure governance and compliance in strategic procurement, adhering to internal policies and external regulations.

Program Management:
- Translate program plans and needs into actionable procurement strategies in alignment with other procurement category teams.
- Serve as the central point of contact for program management inquiries and ensure transparency and efficiency in procurement activities.
- Initiate and lead cross-category meetings to ensure cohesive procurement strategies.
- Report program status updates to the VP Global Procurement and escalate critical topics as needed.
A good match:
- Master’s degree in business administration, or a related field, with over 5 years of experience in a regulated environment with minimum 5-10 years proven experience in procurement and program management working with CDMOs and CMOs.
- Leadership: minimum 5 years of leadership experience and strong ability to guide, motivate, and build relationships with peers, stakeholders, and cross-functional departments.
- In-depth knowledge of CMO, CDMO market with strong relationships established.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, tools, systems, supplier life-cycle management and best practices.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical abilities to address complex situations effectively.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills tailored to the area of responsibility.
- English proficiency is mandatory; German language skills are a plus.
