Director, Program & Project Management
Role Summary
The Director, Program & Project Management will lead the successful delivery of STACK EMEA’s strategic project and programme portfolio, ensuring critical initiatives are delivered with pace, discipline and measurable business outcomes.
Leading a small, experienced project management team, you will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams across STACK EMEA to provide direction, remove barriers and maintain focus on the priorities that matter most. You will bring strong delivery leadership, sound judgement and the confidence to intervene when projects are at risk, helping teams turn plans into results.
As a senior member of the PMO, you will also help strengthen project delivery practices across the business, ensuring STACK’s established governance and methodology support effective decision-making without creating unnecessary complexity.
Additionally, the EMEA VP, PMO, is taking an extended period of leave later in 2026 for 10 months, therefore this role will also provide day-to-day leadership for the wider PMO function, maintaining continuity, supporting the team, and sustaining delivery momentum across the PMO pillars.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of strategic projects and programmes across STACK EMEA, ensuring agreed scope, timelines, budgets and business outcomes are effectively managed.
- Lead, coach and develop a small, experienced project management team, setting clear expectations and creating a culture of ownership, collaboration and accountability.
- Provide direction and support to project managers, ensuring delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and expected benefits are realistic and actively managed.
- Maintain oversight of the project and programme portfolio, identifying emerging risks, competing priorities and delivery constraints.
- Intervene where projects are off track, establishing effective recovery plans and securing timely decisions from sponsors and senior stakeholders.
- Partner with leaders across Development, Delivery, Operations, Commercial, Finance, People & Culture and other functions to remove barriers and keep critical initiatives moving.
- Support portfolio prioritisation, helping ensure approved initiatives remain aligned with STACK EMEA’s strategic objectives, business priorities and available capacity.
- Provide clear, concise reporting and insights to senior leadership on portfolio performance, key risks, priorities and decisions required.
- Ensure consistent and pragmatic application of STACK’s established PMO methodology, governance framework and project lifecycle.
- Improve project delivery tools, templates and ways of working where they add value, while maintaining consistency with the established PMO operating model.
- Capture lessons learned and embedded effective practices that improve delivery maturity, operational effectiveness and project outcomes across STACK EMEA.
- Promote a delivery-focused culture that encourages accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
