Head of Quality – Worley UK
Role Context
This senior leadership role exists to implement strategic initiatives, drive cultural transformation, and ensure organisational excellence in delivering our Projects and Services.
- Critical responsibilities:
- Facilitating change to build a strong Quality culture across sub-regional locations
- Setting goals and ensuring alignment between people, processes, and tools
- Enabling flawless and consistent project execution and service delivery
- Attracting, developing, and retaining top talent to meet evolving project needs
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Commercial Execution
- Ensure Worley Standards are fully understood and integrated into project quality plans through Quality planning and implementation of activities.
- Embed Customer expectations into project quality programs.
- Represent the voice of the customer across sub-region operations and projects, including resolution of concerns, non-conformances, and audit findings.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships with customer Quality leaders, inspectors/auditors, and project teams, while ensuring governance standards across medium-to-small projects.
- Provide input to operational and design Quality strategies, ensuring alignment with global/regional initiatives.
- Events-driven execution: Onboard Quality management for projects/locations lacking dedicated support.

Performance & Assurance
- Quality consistency across projects/fabrication yards
- Identify improvements via escalation to Location management and sub-regional leadership.
- Resource Management:
- Coordinate with Regional Head of Quality on planners and qualified personnel requirements.
- Ensure competent and experienced Quality professionals support operational and project functions.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Identify UK regulatory obligations and embed controls for sustained compliance.
- Develop and maintain UK audit programmes (global integration + corrective action tracking).
Leadership & Transformation
- Examine UK QA/QC org structures and operational interface clarity.
- Develop and refine Quit performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting to drive improvement.
- Lead cross-functional leadership (Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Construction) to deliver projects.
- Establish and nurture a high-performing Quality team, fostering culture of collaboration and continuous development.
Future-Focussed Delivery
- Innovation & continuous improvement: Turn learnings into KPI-driven enhancements.
- Cost management: Lean practices to align Quality resources with billable objectives.
- Strategic & operational accountability:
- Define location Quality objectives and quality resource allocations.
- Oversee approvals (deviations, NCRs, waivers) via escalation pathways.
Essential Requirements
Accreditations & Training (Proof Required)
- Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001 (OR equivalent).
- Change Leadership; ISO Standards Knowledge (9001, 45001); Local construction codes; Regulatory compliance framework

Experience
- Senior management background (at least 10+ years) specialising in Quality functions across oil & gas, renewables, construction.
- Agile within detailed design and EPC projects, with strong interfacing skills and collaborative experience.
- Deep understanding of UK business landscapes, regulatory interfaces, and multi-stakeholder management.
Leadership Behaviour

Mandatory ISO Standards
ISO 10005, 14001, 44001, and 45001.
Process Responsibilities
- Quality planning & overseeing QA (audits, lessons learned) and QC (inspections).
- Performance & improvement assessments.
- Deviation handling and traceability.
- Regulatory audits and immediate corrective action frameworks.
