Head of Quality | Major UK Capital Programme

Location: Bristol, South West England
Employment: Permanent

ENG Bauen is supporting the appointment of a Head of Quality to lead Quality across one of the UK's largest and most complex heavy-industrial construction programmes.

The role will take responsibility for an expanding Quality organisation supporting major mechanical, piping, fabrication and installation scopes, providing leadership across Quality Assurance, Quality Control, construction records, supply chain assurance and project handover.

This is a senior leadership appointment requiring someone capable of building, developing and ultimately leading a large multidisciplinary Quality organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership across the programme's Quality organisation and strategy.
  • Lead and develop a growing team of Quality professionals.
  • Establish and maintain robust QMS, QA/QC and project assurance arrangements.
  • Provide Quality leadership across mechanical, piping, welding, fabrication and installation.
  • Oversee ITPs, NCRs, corrective actions, inspection, surveillance and Lifetime Quality Records.
  • Drive Right First Time performance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead supplier and subcontractor Quality performance and assurance.
  • Work closely with Construction, Engineering, HSE, Commissioning and project leadership.
  • Manage senior client, contractor and regulatory stakeholder interfaces.
  • Ensure effective transition through construction, mechanical completion, commissioning and handover.

  • Significant Quality leadership within large, highly regulated construction programmes.
  • Experience at Head of Quality / Quality Director / Programme Quality Manager level.
  • Proven experience leading and developing large Quality teams.
  • Strong mechanical and piping construction Quality knowledge.
  • Experience across welding, fabrication, installation, inspection and testing.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ITPs, NCR/CAPA, supplier Quality and construction records.
  • Experience working within highly regulated, safety-critical or high-hazard environments.
  • Strong contractor-side delivery experience and the ability to influence major site organisations.

Candidates must be prepared to work five days per week on site in South West England.
