Role: Director, Cost Consultancy

Location: Leeds, Hybrid Working

Sector: Commercial Property, Industrial & Logistics

Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 + car allowance + bonus

Carriera is working with an established independent property consultancy looking to appoint a Director to help establish and grow its Cost Consultancy offering in Leeds. This is a genuinely entrepreneurial opportunity.

The business is already well established across the UK, with around 200 people and strong relationships with institutional investors, asset managers, developers and property owners. The Cost Consultancy service is growing, and the Leeds appointment will play a central role in building that capability across the North.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical Cost Management experience with genuine commercial ambition. You will be expected to deliver work, develop existing relationships, win new instructions and help build a team around you.

This would particularly suit someone who has reached Director or senior Associate Director level within a larger consultancy and feels ready to build something with greater autonomy, visibility and influence.

The Role

  • Help establish and grow the Cost Consultancy offering in Leeds
  • Deliver Cost Management services across commercial offices, industrial, logistics and wider investment property
  • Work with institutional investors, asset managers, developers and major property clients
  • Develop existing client relationships and identify opportunities for additional instructions
  • Originate new work through your own network and wider business relationships
  • Lead projects from feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account
  • Provide strategic commercial and cost advice to clients
  • Develop fee proposals, pitches and new business opportunities
  • Support the wider national Cost Consultancy strategy
  • Help recruit, mentor and develop the Leeds Cost Management team as the service grows
  • Work closely with colleagues across other property and technical disciplines to create cross selling opportunities
  • Maintain strong technical standards and ensure consistent quality of delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
