About the Team
The Trials team designs and delivers field trials and online experiments across a range of public policy areas. Working with clients including government departments, regulators and What Works Centres, we generate robust evidence that informs policy, improves public services and helps organisations understand what works in practice.
About the Role
Following recent growth and project wins, we're looking for an experienced Director to join our Trials team.
You'll lead the design and delivery of randomised controlled trials and online experiments, provide technical leadership on trial design, and work with clients across a range of policy areas. You'll also support business development activities, oversee project delivery and help develop a talented and growing team.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and delivery of randomised controlled trials and online experiments.
- Provide technical leadership and advice on trial design methodologies.
- Oversee both the impact and IPE strands of field trials and be responsible for their integration at all stages of the project.
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality trials.
- Lead and support project teams responsible for day-to-day delivery.
- Produce high-quality research outputs and communicate findings to a range of audiences.
- Contribute to business development through proposals, pitches and new opportunities.
- Oversee multiple projects while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience designing and delivering randomised controlled trials, including field trials or online experiments for policymakers.
- Ability to provide technical advice on trial design.
- Experience working with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality trials.
- Experience leading and supporting project teams.
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
