Director, Epidemiology & Real-World Evidence

The Opportunity
We are holding initial conversations for an upcoming Director-level Epidemiology and RWE requirement with a global pharmaceutical organisation.
The consultant will provide leadership across observational evidence generation. Flexibility with therapeutic area - more focus on methodology and strategy.
The anticipated scope may support evidence generation across the product lifecycle, so experience with pre or post authorisation work is welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape epidemiology and RWE strategy around defined scientific and business questions
- Design and oversee retrospective and prospective observational studies
- Lead the development and review of study concepts, protocols and statistical analysis plans
- Advise on data-source selection, feasibility, bias, confounding and causal inference
- Oversee CROs, data partners and statistical programming teams
- Interpret findings and support publications, regulatory activities and scientific communication

Required Experience
Your CV should demonstrate:
- Director-level or equivalent experience within pharmaceutical epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology or RWE
- PhD in Epi or similar level accreditation
- 5+ years working in pharma industry (ideal)
- End-to-end leadership of observational studies
- Experience using claims, EHR, registry or other secondary healthcare data
- Strong knowledge of epidemiological methods, bias and confounding
- Experience managing CROs, research partners or data vendors
- Experience working with senior scientific and cross-functional stakeholders
