This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.
Role Purpose
To set, monitor and deliver commercial strategy for the division across all Mortgage and Second Charge Loan product verticals. To lead the Sales and Underwriting function, including management of internal and external teams, and deliver against relevant targets across all distribution channels.
Responsibilities
- Set the overall multi-product Commercial and Sales strategy, and deliver plans to achieve key performance and budget metrics.
- To identify and support the growth of existing, adjacent and new product and lending opportunities in-light of competitor movement, changing market demands and emerging risks.
- To lead from the front, applying an entrepreneurial spirit in the regular delivery of commercial initiatives.
- To set the strategy for creating new, and developing existing, introducer relationships across all distribution channels.
- Identify new product, process and technology opportunities that will provide growth opportunities and enhance the application journey and produce appropriate cost/benefit analysis in support.
- Lead a multi-product sales function, with both internal-office and external-road based staff across all Introducer channels. This includes Specialist Distributors, Packagers, Brokers and Introducers with access via Networks & Clubs. Ability to understand and tailor comms and strategy to the needs of different distribution channels.
- Lead the multi-skilled Residential Mortgages Underwriting function, taking responsibility for maintaining service and quality standards throughout the credit sanctioning and drawdown process.
- Be an external spokesperson for the division, promoting the proposition through various marketing, brand elevation, events and speaking opportunities.
- Work with the Managing Director and Product & Marketing functions to ensure opportunities for success are capitalised upon.
- As a member of the Divisions Senior Management Team set an example for all colleagues, including taking responsibility for the personal development of the function.
- Through appropriate qualitative and quantitative MI, ensure all sales targets, commercial and budget KPI’s are met.
- Complete people management activity for direct reports, including monthly 1 to 1’s, performance monitoring and objective reviews.

Skills and Experience sought
- 10+ years of specialist lending experience within sales or commercial led senior roles
- 5+ years management leadership
- Detailed understanding of all distribution channels and structures, including Packagers, Specialist Distributors, Networks and Clubs
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment
- Stakeholder Management
