Director – Residential Property

West Midlands | Full-time, Hybrid

Competitive Salary + Director Bonus

An award-winning regional law firm is looking to appoint a Director to lead its successful Residential Property team. This is a senior leadership appointment for a Solicitor/Licensed Conveyancer/Chartered Legal Executive, who wants influence over strategy and growth, and the opportunity to lead an award-winning team.

The firm has 500+ employees across private and business services, with the Residential Property team being one of its largest departments.

The Role

As Director of the Conveyancing Department you will be required to:

  • Lead — mentoring senior solicitors/team managers
  • Shape strategy — working alongside senior leadership on where the department is headed and how it gets there
  • Grow the referrer network — building genuine relationships with estate agents, brokers, developers, and other introducers, and turning those into a steady pipeline of quality work
  • Be the technical backstop — the person colleagues go to when a transaction gets complicated or high-risk
  • Spot commercial opportunity — using your read of the local property market to identify where the department should be investing its energy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
