Adelaide University is seeking an exceptional leader to become the next Director of Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital (RVH). This is a rare opportunity to lead a large-scale veterinary teaching hospital at the intersection of education, professional practice, research, and community service.

As Director, you will provide strategic, people-focused and influential leadership, guiding a high performing clinical enterprise that delivers outstanding veterinary care while supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals. You will inspire multidisciplinary teams, drive growth, foster innovation, and strengthen partnerships.
Provide strategic and people-focused leadership, guiding a high-performing, financially sustainable clinical teaching enterprise at the forefront of veterinary education and professional practice. Working across the University and with key stakeholders, the role will shape and deliver Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital’s strategic direction, building on its strengths and identifying opportunities for growth, innovation and impact.

In this role, you will foster a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring the hospital delivers outstanding clinical services while providing an exceptional learning environment for veterinary students and professionals.
With a strong focus on education, clinical excellence, innovation and community engagement, the role will contribute directly to Adelaide University’s strategic ambitions and strengthen Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital’s position as a leading centre for veterinary teaching, practice and applied innovation.
The team
Reporting to the Executive Director, College of Science, you will be a member of the College Professional leadership team and lead the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital.
The role is based at our extensive Roseworthy campus, home to South Australia’s only veterinary school and the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital, which provides 24/7 veterinary services to the community.
Experience
To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated success in senior people leadership roles, leading multidisciplinary teams
- A proven ability to build positive workplace cultures and developing people to achieve their potential
- Experience driving business growth, financial sustainability and organisational performance
- Extensive experience in strategic and business planning, leading and sustaining innovation, continuous improvement and effective service delivery
- Demonstrated expertise in people management, wellbeing and safety, budgeting and financial management, and strategic planning and policies and governance frameworks
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills
