Responsibilities / Position overview

We are looking for a Director, Scientific Sales & Delivery to serve as the strategic interface between clients and our Research team. This is a hybrid commercial–scientific leadership role, combining epidemiological expertise with hands-on business development accountability across the full RWE project lifecycle — from earliest opportunity qualification through to study completion.

You will carry a personal annual sales pipeline target, lead proposal development, and ensure all outputs are methodologically rigorous, scientifically defensible, and aligned to client objectives. A consultative selling mindset and the credibility to engage peer-to-peer with senior pharmaceutical stakeholders are essential.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Will Do

Commercial & Opportunity Development

  • Hold a personal annual sales and pipeline target, documented in your SIP
  • Partner with Business Development to scope, qualify, and advance new RWE opportunities
  • Lead proposal authorship and scientific governance across all BD lifecycle stages, ensuring methodological rigor and alignment with international guidelines (e.g., ENCePP, GVP)
  • Handle objections, manage competitive positioning, and negotiate scope, assumptions, and commercial terms without compromising scientific quality

Scientific Delivery & Data Leadership

  • Personally conduct hands-on feasibility analysis of RWD datasets — validating population size, variable availability, and bias risks — before committing to timelines or budgets
  • Design and deliver studies using contemporary outcomes research methods: external control arms, surrogate endpoint validation, NMA, propensity score matching, target trial emulation, and more
  • Lead senior-level scientific discussions with clients autonomously, managing scope creep and setting clear expectations throughout

Delivery Oversight & Relationship Management

  • Keep cross-functional scientific teams on track, on time, and on budget
  • Build and maintain trusted senior client relationships across the full study lifecycle to generate repeat business and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities that reinforce Lumanity/PHARMO's position as a center of RWE expertise
