We will need you to autonomously scope and lead complex programmes for our clients, have proven success in business development with evidence of strong commercial acumen, actively contribute to internal initiatives, and develop our team from a skills, experience, and capability perspective. While working in a supportive team environment, you will have the confidence and experience to drive our business development activities.

You will be working directly with your fellow leadership team to deliver excellence for our clients. There is also the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the Capgemini Group to leverage our combined capabilities and expertise to the benefit of our clients - we often look to synergise our technical expertise (for example, digital and analytics) with the deep sector expertise held in the Public Sector.
As Director, you help set the direction to drive forward our National Security business, model our values and behaviours, and train, coach, and mentor junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role include:
- Building our business: You will have a passion for, and proven track record in growing a consulting business with National Security organisations, and the delivery expertise to sustain and nurture client relationships for lasting success.
- Developing Capgemini’s impact in the National Security sector in the UK: Using a combination of our broader pre-existing relationships and your own network to generate sales of £2 million per annum.
- Helping our clients realise their strategic transformation agenda through leading insight and exceptional delivery: You’ll be up to date on Public Sector trends and issues and a recognised subject matter expert in National Security.
- Developing deep, trust-based relationships with clients: In a sell-deliver-sell-on model.
- Collaborating with colleagues: In user-centred design, data, strategy, solutions architecture, analytics, and AI business, to name but a few.
- Supporting strategic decision making: By gathering, analysing, and communicating data relating to the costs and benefits of delivering various cutting-edge services.
- Sharing your expertise: Through the creation of thought leadership and knowledge management.
- Supporting Capgemini Invent’s market offerings: By writing propositions that reflect our position as a leading public sector management consultancy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
