The Opportunity

This customer-facing strategic role leads a team of Services Sales Managers responsible for achieving Professional Services bookings targets and ensuring services are appropriately scoped to help customers achieve identified business outcomes.

As the leader of the regional Professional Services sales team, you will partner closely with Software Sales, Professional Services, and Customer Success to help customers realize value, improve retention, and support long-term growth.

What You'll Do

As part of the Planview Professional Services team and reporting to the VP of Professional Services, you will work with prospective and existing customers to:

  • Lead a high performing services sales team of Strategic Services Managers (SSMs).
  • Attainment of the regional PS sales bookings targets to drive attainment of regional revenue and margin.
  • Accurate forecasting of regional PS sales pipeline and bookings.
  • Responsible for the ongoing development of the team which includes recruiting, hiring and training new SSMs, as required.
  • Coach and manage the team to:
    • Achieve assigned professional services bookings target quota by closing signed statements of work with customers directly and via partners, within defined margin guardrails.
    • Support enterprise sales opportunities utilizing your knowledge and expertise to define planned value outcomes that align to prospective customer’s needs.
  • Build strong relationships with Planview Partners (GSI’s) to collaborate on selling subscriptions and services that lead to revenue and growth potential.
  • Develop and understanding of partner defined solutions with the purpose of positioning partner offerings to our customers to drive adoption and expansion.
  • Work cross functionally with partners in Sales and Customer Success, to build credibility and trust with prospects/customers by acting as a business advisor leveraging your knowledge and background to advise, architect, and build the Professional Services delivery plan and scope of services for prospects and customers to achieve their planned value outcomes with a focus on time to value.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to scope and sell technical services offerings as appropriate.
  • Define and scope the Professional Services effort and estimate to achieve customer objectives while adhering to defined guardrails for “as sold” margin requirements.
  • Work with Sales, Customer Success, TAMs (Technical Account Manager) and independently to build and maintain a strong Professional Services opportunity pipeline.
  • Provide accurate and up to date reporting on sales activities and progress as required by management.
  • Work collaboratively with Planview teams to support customer success and voice of customer needs to product management.

What You'll Bring

We are seeking an individual who possesses strong sales, business, consulting, and leadership skills, with a customer first mindset, who can drive a team to promote and sell professional services effectively.

Interested candidates should have:

Experience:

  • 10+ years Management experience and 8+ years of previous consulting sales experience in a SaaS company
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding quota
  • Experience with bookings forecasting and margin responsibilities.
  • Experience collaborating with customer stakeholders, including C-level.
  • Multi-year experience as a product/project/program/PMO/EPMO manager or other consulting experience(desired)
  • Experience with business consulting, business process analysis, deploying lean-agile and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions (desired).
  • Experience navigating global organizations successfully.
  • Experience with Planview solutions (desired)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Management of Information Science, or Business (or related degree) or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Related certifications or industry designations preferred (e.g., LPM (Lean Portfolio Management), SAFe, PMP, MBA, CPA, etc.)

Skills:

  • Excellent communication with the ability to drive value-based conversations with senior stakeholders.
  • Sales minded with commercial understanding of project and company margin drivers.
  • Self-starter with strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to learn and apply industry knowledge to drive services bookings.
  • Stay up to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and services offerings and methodologies.
  • Facilitate conversations between technical and non-technical people.
  • Remain calm under pressure and show patience within a variety of customer situations.
  • Some travel required.
