Job Description

This role sits within Visa Europe’s SMB Solutioning team and is responsible for defining and leading Premium and Loyalty for SMB across Europe. The Director will own end-to-end growth of differentiated SMB premium propositions, with accountability for enabling commercial outcomes, client value, and deal success across Europe.

The role operates as the proposition & solutioning lead for SMB Premium & Loyalty, partnering with Sales, Product, and regional leadership to evolve the proposition, win complex deals, embed strategic capabilities, and translate market opportunities into commercially viable, scalable solutions.


Strategic Leadership & Ownership

  • Define and own the SMB Premium & Loyalty strategy for Europe, aligned to VCS and global product priorities
  • Set the strategic direction for SMB premium propositions, including target segments, value propositions, and growth levers
  • Influence global regional roadmap and investment priorities to ensure alignment with European SMB market needs

Proposition Development

  • Own the design and evolution of differentiated, scalable SMB premium propositions across key client types (e.g. fintechs, traditional issuers, emerging segments), ensuring propositions are grounded in deep customer insight, market trends, and commercial viability
  • Lead prioritisation of proposition innovation pipelines and future capabilities
  • Drive alignment between regional needs and global / regional product teams, influencing roadmap decisions
  • Ensure ongoing optimisation of product construct (pricing, eligibility, benefit structure) to maximise competitiveness and performance

Benefits & Ecosystem Development

  • Lead and scale the SMB Benefits capability, setting priorities and directing day-to-day delivery of the FTE responsible for sourcing and onboarding benefits partners, with accountability for delivery against strategic objectives
  • Ensure strong governance of benefits investment, performance tracking, and ROI optimisation
  • Influence Visa’s loyalty roadmap and solutions, ensuring SMB needs are included roadmaps
  • Set strategic direction for merchant offer sourcing and partnerships, leveraging both regional and global assets, and maintain curated catalogue of SMB offers

Client Solutioning & Commercial Impact

  • Lead solutioning for the most strategic and complex SMB client deals across the region
  • Partner with Sales Leadership including VP SMB to shape premium deal strategy and maximise commercial impact of SMB Premium propositions
  • Engage directly with C-level and senior client stakeholders in pitches and workshops
  • Ensure solutioning excellence and consistency across the SMB portfolio

Go-To-Market & Sales Enablement

  • Accountability for the SMB Premium GTM strategy across Europe, partnering with GTM Lead on execution
  • Develop best-in-class client materials, business cases, and narratives
  • Ensure scalable enablement of Sales teams through structured training, playbooks, and tools
  • Partner with SMB GTM and Sales Leadership to prioritise strategic plays and maximise market impact

Visa operates a hybrid working policy, with the expectation being 3 days per week in the London, Paddington office.


Qualifications

  • Deep experience in payments, financial services, or fintech, with strong expertise in premium card products, loyalty, rewards, or value-added services
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering commercial strategies with measurable impact
  • Extensive experience leading complex, high-value client engagements at exec level
  • Strong background in proposition development and scaling offerings across markets
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and shape strategic direction in a matrix environment
  • Commercially driven, with strong business acumen and outcome orientation
  • Experience leading teams or large-scale initiatives, with a clear leadership mindset
  • Deep understanding of SMB segment needs and dynamics
  • Excellent communication and executive presence
  • Fluency in English required; additional European language advantageous
