Director – Structural Engineering (Chartered) | CK3246375

£100,000 - 120,000 upwards + excellent benefits + bonus | Hampshire | Flexible / Hybrid

A highly respected UK engineering and construction consultancy is seeking to appoint a Director to lead a large Engineering team in Winchester. This is a senior leadership role within a well-established, multi-disciplinary firm that continues to grow its regional presence and national reputation, delivering award-winning projects across a range of sectors.

The consultancy is known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture, and commitment to delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions. You will join an experienced and motivated team that consistently produces innovative and commercially sound engineering outcomes for an impressive portfolio of clients.

The Opportunity

As Director, you will have full responsibility for shaping and leading the Structural Engineering discipline across the southern region.

Your remit will include:

  • Providing strategic and technical leadership to the Structural Engineering team
  • Leading the delivery of complex and high-value structural engineering projects from concept to completion
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor at senior level
  • Driving business development and work-winning activities to grow the regional pipeline
  • Overseeing team performance, resourcing, mentoring, and recruitment
  • Managing commercial performance, including budgets, forecasting, and P&L responsibilities
  • Representing the consultancy at client meetings, industry forums, and networking events
  • Working collaboratively with the wider leadership team to shape and implement regional growth strategies

About You

You will be a Chartered Structural Engineer with a proven background in delivering high-quality engineering projects and leading successful teams.

You should bring:

  • Significant post-chartership experience within a consultancy environment
  • Strong technical capability and experience delivering complex structural schemes
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop engineering teams
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, bids, and fee proposals
  • A track record of securing new work and building long-term client relationships
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The confidence and credibility to operate at senior level across both public and private sector clients
