Department: Retail & Leisure

The role

We require a senior surveyor either at or aspiring towards Director level to help service a burgeoning case of valuations with the opportunity to expand into lease advice and assist in major brokerage projects. We envisage a candidate with leadership qualities that would relish a challenge and embrace the opportunity to lead a team around them.

Who are Christie & Co?

Established for over 90 years, we are the leading specialist advisor in operational real estate with a focus on retail, leisure, hotels, pubs, restaurants, childcare, healthcare, and medical. We are regulated by the RICS and are on all relevant bank valuation panels. We handle more operational business transactions than any other advisor.

Our Values: Adaptable, Collaborative, Innovative, Personal and Trusted

Where we work

We employ the largest team of sector specialists in the UK, providing professional brokerage, valuation and advisory services from offices in major cities across Britain and Europe. We have been doing this for over 90 years, so we know our sectors and local markets inside out. We work closely with our clients to guide and conclude transactions of any size, covering all aspects of leisure (focus on garden centres, caravan parks, marinas and visitor attractions), forecourts, convenience retail, hotels, restaurants and pubs, social care and elderly care, childcare & education facilities, dental practices and pharmacies.

Purpose of the Role

To deliver and grow our Retail & Leisure Professional services, providing valuations and advice with a particular focus on going‑concern assets. The role will involve mentoring and influencing others, with the opportunity to build a team over time. You will be a key member of Christie & Co’s wider valuation team, developing strong relationships with banks, investors, accountants, and operators through strong networking.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with RICS rules, professional standards, and internal company policies
  • Lead and secure retail and leisure valuation instructions on a UK‑wide basis
  • Survey and value properties and trading businesses to determine market value
  • Prepare, present, and deliver high‑quality reports
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Develop and manage an external network of key contacts, including operators, solicitors, accountants, and other professional advisers
  • Proactively generate new business
  • Respond promptly, professionally, and effectively to enquiries from prospective clients
  • Maintain a strong awareness of market activity, trends, and sector developments
  • Work towards and consistently achieve agreed performance and revenue targets
  • Identify opportunities to cross‑sell services across the wider Group
  • Accurately use and maintain the Christie & Co CRM system, ensuring contact, property, and project data is kept up to date

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
