Summary

The successful candidate, located in the UK or a Schengen country, will lead the progression of CMC projects from proposal through completion by working closely with clients, proposal teams, technical teams, and business development. The role also involves strategic development of internal technical capability, external joint collaborations, and participation in business development activities such as client visits and representing WuXi Vaccines at conferences and trade shows.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Management (PM) and CMC functional teams to ensure the successful execution and timely delivery of CMC projects.
  • Lead CMC projects with a good understanding of potential technical challenges, regulatory requirements, and ICH’s guidelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure alignment between WuXi Vaccines and clients.
  • Provide technical input to support interaction between business development team and potential new clients.
  • Provide technical guidance to Proposal Team for proposal writing and grant applications.
  • The successful candidate may co-lead technical team for early-phase or late stage process development projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemical/Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Industry experience in large pharma, biotech, or CDMO environments is required, strong communication skills are highly preferred.
  • Depending upon the titles, a minimum of 8 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in process development, formulation development, DP filling/finish, analytical sciences, and/or GMP manufacturing.
  • Demonstrates good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, vaccine and/or complex molecule drug development.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of current regulations and industry trends for vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, and complex molecule development, manufacture, and testing.
  • Ability to effectively work across all levels, functions, sites, and companies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Candidate should possess strong and effective project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills and have a proven track record working cross-functionally across a wide variety of technical, business and operational areas.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and highly flexible in this home-based position with about 10%-15% travel.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
