Role Overview

This role sits within our Growth Finance team and is focused on managing and developing a portfolio of venture debt connections within Strategic Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for building deep, trusted relationships with existing clients, applying strong commercial judgement and market insight to support portfolio performance, identify emerging risks and deliver sustainable income in line with our credit and regulatory framework.

About Us

We are a well-established and respected participant in the UK venture debt market, with a strong and proven track record of supporting high-growth businesses. Our portfolio comprises fast-scaling, innovation-led and technology-enabled companies, where our non-dilutive capital plays a critical role in enabling growth. Through proactive portfolio management, we work closely with management teams, investors and wider stakeholders to help businesses navigate key inflection points, extend their cash runway and maximise long-term value while protecting founder and investor equity.

Hybrid Working

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Glasgow office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
