Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated operational leader to join University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust as Directorate Manager for the Head, Neck & Skin Directorate.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across a complex portfolio of services
- Work in partnership with Clinical Directors, Heads of Nursing and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, safe and sustainable services
- Responsible for performance, finance, workforce, governance and service development
- Ensure delivery of Trust objectives and national standards
Key Requirements
- Highly visible, resilient and collaborative individual with a proven track record of delivering operational improvement, leading change and developing high-performing teams in a complex healthcare environment
- Key member of the Head, Neck and Skin triumvirate leadership team, working alongside the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing
- Responsible for delivering high-quality patient care whilst achieving performance, workforce and financial objectives

Role Details
- Operational oversight of elective, cancer and outpatient pathways
- Ensure delivery of national standards, optimal use of resources and continuous improvement in patient outcomes
- Lead service improvement programmes, business case development and transformational change aligned to Directorate and Trust priorities
- Accountable for financial performance, including budget management, efficiency programmes and identification of service development opportunities
- Maintain robust governance arrangements covering quality, risk and regulatory compliance
- Provide visible leadership, build strong stakeholder relationships and promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and compassionate leadership
