Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Strategic Thought Leadership

  • Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy: Influence how the bank positions itself within the UK Fintech and Innovation sectors.
  • Product Evolution: Act as the "voice of the client" for Product teams, identifying gaps in the current offering and driving the development of next-gen digital banking features.
  • Market Presence: Represent HSBC Innovation Banking at key industry events, VC forums, and Fintech summits as a subject matter expert.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Ecosystem Navigation: Work seamlessly across the "Golden Triangle" of stakeholders: Coverage/Relationship Teams, Market Specialists, and Global Product Teams.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure all sales activities align with UK regulatory standards, particularly important when dealing with high-growth Fintech clients.

Requirements:

Experience & Expertise

  • Fintech Specialist: You have a deep-rooted understanding of the UK Fintech landscape, including its regulatory nuances (EMIs, PIs) and the specific pain points of digital-first businesses.
  • Full Life-Cycle Exposure: Proven track record of working with companies from Early/VC-backed stages through to Series D+ and profitability.
  • Product Mastery: Technical fluency in API-driven banking, real-time payment rails (FPS, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT), and working capital/trade solutions.

Personal Attributes

  • Self-Driven & Autonomous: You thrive in environments that lack a rigid "handholding" culture. You are an entrepreneur within a bank.
  • Ambitious & Results-Oriented: You have a "hunter" mindset but possess the emotional intelligence to manage long-term, relationship-based sales cycles.
  • Collaborative Leader: Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead deal teams without formal direct-line authority.
