Job Description

As a Church Disclosure Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring requests are managed effectively and in accordance with legal, safeguarding and governance requirements. Acting as a Disclosure Officer, you will be responsible for reviewing, assessing and disclosing information in line with agreed procedures, whilst maintaining strong relationships with dioceses, cathedrals, parishes, safeguarding teams, religious communities and national Church institutions.

Working at the centre of a complex network of Church bodies, you will act as a key point of contact for requests received through the Scheme, ensuring they are assessed, routed appropriately and progressed to completion in a timely and survivor-centred way. The role combines information request coordination, stakeholder engagement, information management and disclosure decision-making, requiring excellent organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to work confidently with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage information requests relating to the Redress Scheme from receipt through to completion, ensuring they are progressed efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Receive and assess information requests to determine the appropriate route for action and identify the Church bodies required to respond.
  • Working with a range of stakeholders to coordinate information requests across dioceses, cathedrals, parishes, safeguarding teams, religious communities and national Church institutions to obtain relevant information.
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, building effective working relationships and providing guidance on Redress Scheme processes and information requirements.
  • Serve as a Disclosure Officer for the Redress Scheme, reviewing information received and making informed decisions regarding its relevance and disclosure.
  • Manage the collection, review, collation and disclosure of information in accordance with Scheme procedures, UK GDPR, Data Protection legislation and information governance requirements.
  • Liaise with Church bodies to ensure information requests are understood, responded to appropriately and completed to the required standard.
  • Exercise sound judgement when handling sensitive, confidential and complex information, escalating risks and issues where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records of requests, decisions, actions and outcomes.
  • Create and deliver a process to ensure information requests are progressed within timescales monitoring performance, identifying delays, risks or barriers and working proactively to resolve issues.
  • Produce management information and reports on activity, performance, emerging themes and risks.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the development of processes, guidance and ways of working.
  • Support the identification of themes, learning and good practice arising from Redress Scheme activity.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding principles, Church policies and governance requirements, contributing to a survivor-centred and legally compliant service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
