About The Role
North Northamptonshire is in the midst of an ambitious cultural transformation. The North Northamptonshire Cultural Masterplan sets out a shared vision for arts, heritage, creativity, and community participation across the area, uniting stakeholders, strengthening the creative sector, and embedding culture into community wellbeing, place-making, and economic growth.
Alongside this, Discover Northamptonshire operates as the area's Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP), bringing together arts organisations, creative freelancers, heritage venues, tourism businesses, and public sector partners to raise the profile of our area. The Discover Northamptonshire Hub at Rushden Lakes serves as the office base and central gateway for this strategic work.
This is a varied, outward-facing role that connects culture, creative programming, tourism, and community partnership into a single, purposeful agenda. Rather than managing a single venue, this role acts as a supportive link right across North Northamptonshire, working directly with independent artists, cultural organisations, freelancers, and local businesses to co-design inclusive activity, support sector growth, and deliver flagship events.

What will you be doing?
At the core of this role is turning the ambitions of the North Northamptonshire Cultural Masterplan and LVEP priorities into practical, place-based outcomes across our towns and communities.
- Sector & Partner Engagement: Connect arts and cultural organisations, creative freelancers, independent artists, heritage sites, and tourism businesses with council opportunities, advice, and funding networks.
- Flagship Events & Commissions: Plan, manage, and co-curate high-quality, inclusive public events and cultural projects across North Northamptonshire (such as Northamptonshire Day, Diwali Festival, and the annual LVEP Conference).
- Area-Wide Collaboration: Travel regularly across North Northamptonshire to build relationships, conduct site visits, support project delivery, and facilitate multi-sector partnerships.
- Hub Programming & Storytelling: Support occasional creative pop-ups, partner showcases, and exhibitions linked to the Discover Northamptonshire Hub at Rushden Lakes, working alongside the core Hub team.
- Growth & Impact: Identify opportunities for external funding, corporate sponsorship, and artistic partnerships, while ensuring all activity is monitored, budgeted, and delivered safely and inclusively under the guidance of the Project Manager.

About You
We are looking for someone who understands the creative sector and thrives on bringing people and places together.
- Experience: You have a background in culture, arts administration, tourism, heritage, or community project delivery, with a track record of working collaboratively across sector partnerships.
- Sector Knowledge: You understand the working realities and needs of arts organisations, venues, creative freelancers, and independent artists, alongside broader tourism and community goals.
- Relationship Builder: You are an empathetic, clear communicator who can easily talk to an independent artist, a community volunteer, a commercial partner, or a council officer.
- Project Delivery: You possess strong coordination skills, able to balance creative ambitions with operational logistics, budgets, health and safety, and event planning across multiple locations.
- Approach: You are proactive, solutions-focused, and flexible, willing to travel across North Northamptonshire and work occasional evenings, weekends, or bank holidays to support key events.
