For our Brigg branch, we are looking for a:

Dispatcher

Location: Brigg

The Role:

We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Dispatcher / Transport Planner to join our team. This is a key operational role responsible for coordinating deliveries and collections, planning transport activities, supporting fleet compliance, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the dispatch process.

Working closely with the Field Service Foreman (FSF) and Branch Operations Manager (BOM), you will play a vital role in ensuring equipment is delivered and collected efficiently, safely, and in line with customer requirements and transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery Planning

    • Plan and coordinate all customer deliveries and pick-ups.
    • Liaise directly with customers to agree delivery and collection times, site access requirements, and project-specific needs.
    • Collect and complete transport and on-site agreements.
    • Coordinate fuel management activities for customers.
    • Plan internal equipment transfers between branches.
    • Arrange external non-rental transfers between suppliers and branches.
  • Purchasing & Operational Support

    • Raise orders and arrange project-related services, including transport, cleaning, and specialist handling support.
    • Create branch purchase orders, communicate with suppliers, and maintain purchase order records.
    • Check and verify transport and fuel management invoices.
  • Administration & Reporting

    • Accurately enter and maintain data within ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Produce reports and operational information as required.
    • Provide administrative support to the branch operation.
  • Fleet & People Management Support

    • Review tachograph data for drivers and vehicles and highlight findings to the BOM and FSF.
    • Coordinate timely roadworthiness inspections for trucks, trailers, and fixed axle tanks.
    • Support fleet management activities and identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
    • Provide backup support for Branch Administration activities when required.

About You:

Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualification in logistics, transport planning, dispatching, freight forwarding, or a related field. (Desired)
  • Alternatively, relevant experience in transport scheduling or operational planning.
  • Strong experience within logistics, transport planning, or the scheduling of technical field personnel.
  • Good understanding of ADR requirements, driving and rest time regulations, and local working time legislation.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and systems.
