Job Summary
Dispatcher Dispatcher London Gatwick
We're seeking an experienced Aircraft Dispatcher to join our team at Gatwick Airport. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for orchestrating all aspects of aircraft turnaround operations, including load planning, weight and balance calculations, and coordinating various ground services from catering to refuelling. You'll work closely with flight crews, passenger services staff, and third-party vendors to ensure precise timing and seamless operations. The ideal candidate will excel at multi-tasking, maintaining detailed documentation, and providing clear communication across all departments. Key responsibilities include managing passenger boarding bridge operations, monitoring under-wing activities, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and maintaining accurate flight information systems. You'll also participate in airline customer meetings and conduct flight audits while upholding dnata's commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Load planning, weight and balance of aircraft.
- Working with operations team to ensure all aircrafts are met and departed.
- Coordinating all the services that attend an aircraft to prepare for its next flight, e.g. caterers, re-fuellers, cleaners, baggage loading, de-icing.
- To document all key stage timings during the departure process.
- Liaison with Airline Flight Deck and Crews, Passenger Services staff and other Airport Personnel.
- To monitor the under-wing activity and offload processes, completing reports in an auditable process. All safety procedures to be complied with.
- Prior to the loading of the aircraft ensure all service providers adhere to safe working practices.
- Docking and undocking of Passenger Boarding Bridge
- Provide good communication to all departments and service providers during both arrival and departure process.
- To co-ordinate and ensure 3rd party engagements are compliant as per their PTS (precision time schedule).
- Document any deviations or changes and communicate them at all times ensuring the correct information is used.
- Upon completion of the flight, all loading information to be sent/scanned/emailed to relevant airlines and ensure CPM/LDM production, and all MVT messages sent.
- Ensure ramp report card is filled in with full details and delay report if necessary.
- To assist with any other duties to ensure on time departures and the provision of service levels.
- Attend weekly meetings with customer airlines
- Update Idaho & Findnet with arrival and departure information
- Undertake flight audits
- Liaise with flight deck over the ground air radio
- Update TOBT to comply with airport SLA
- To undertake any other duties as required by management, commensurate with the grade of the post
