Rotational shift days

Environmental Conditions

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed
  • Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
  • Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

The Dispensary Technician is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, dispensing, and issuance of raw materials used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The role ensures all activities are performed in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards, and company quality requirements. The technician maintains inventory accuracy, supports production schedules, and ensures materials are handled and stored under appropriate environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense raw materials according to approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), dispensing instructions, and production schedules.
  • Operate and maintain the Dispensary Weighing System (DWS) to ensure precise weighing and full traceability of dispensed materials.
  • Perform inventory transactions, material movements, and stock control activities using SAP.
  • Verify material identity, batch numbers, expiry dates, quantities, and status labels before dispensing.
  • Maintain complete and accurate GMP documentation in accordance with ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
  • Follow approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality procedures at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Store and handle raw materials in designated temperature-controlled environments, including:
    • Ambient storage
    • Refrigerated storage (2–8°C)
    • Frozen storage (-20°C)
  • Monitor storage conditions and ensure materials remain within specified temperature limits.
  • Support inventory counts, cycle counts, stock investigations, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain dispensary cleanliness and organization using 5S principles.
  • Comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follow safe manual handling practices when moving raw materials and containers.
  • Report deviations, quality issues, equipment faults, and safety concerns promptly.

Experience

Previous experience working in a GMP-regulated environment is required, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing operations.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to safely perform manual handling activities, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving raw material containers and equipment.
  • Ability to work for extended periods while standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments, including refrigerated areas at 2–8°C and frozen storage areas at -20°C, while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling and dispensing equipment following applicable SOPs and work instructions.
  • Ability to perform detailed weighing and dispensing activities requiring good manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
