Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Dispensing Optician. The Dispensing Optician will advise patients on suitable frames and lenses, taking into account prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and visual requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Interpreting optical prescriptions
- Performing accurate measurements and fittings
- Ensuring spectacles and other visual aids are correctly adjusted and comfortable
- Providing clear explanations of lens options, coatings, and specialist solutions
- Supporting optometrists by preparing patients, managing follow-up appointments, and assisting with aftercare
- Maintaining high standards of customer service
- Handling queries and concerns
- Contributing to the smooth operation and presentation of the practice
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of optics and optometry to interpret prescriptions and recommend appropriate visual solutions.
- Experience supporting eye exams and clinical workflows within an optometric or optical practice environment.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and clear communication.
- Ability to perform accurate measurements, fittings, and adjustments of frames and lenses.
- Relevant professional qualification as a Dispensing Optician (e.g., FBDO or equivalent) and registration with the appropriate professional body.
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-based, patient-focused setting.
- Comfort with practice management systems and basic IT tools; retail or practice-based sales experience is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work across all 3 of our practices when needed.
