Job Overview:
Hi there! We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented GOC qualified Dispensing Optician to join our award-winning optical team at Specsavers Islington.
In this vital role, you will serve as the bridge between patients and their vision care needs, expertly assisting with frame selection, lens options, and fitting procedures for a wide range of patients. Your expertise will ensure each patient receives personalized service, optimal eyewear solutions, and a positive experience from start to finish. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical skills with exceptional customer care in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
Please bear in mind, only GOC qualified Dispensing Opticians will be considered, if you are not GOC qualified (or very far along training as a DO) you will unfortunately not be considered for this role.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them in selecting eyewear that suits their style, comfort, and vision requirements
- Measure and verify prescriptions accurately using specialized equipment (trial frames)
- Fit and adjust eyewear to ensure proper alignment, comfort, and optimal visual performance
- Provide detailed explanations of lens options, coatings, and frame features to help patients make informed decisions
- Maintain accurate records of patient prescriptions, transactions, and eyewear modifications
- Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care
- Sign off children's dispenses and collections regularly, as well as checking off kids jobs our on-site optical lab

Skills
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy to understand eye structures and vision correction needs
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex optical concepts clearly and confidently
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Customer-focused attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Familiarity with optical equipment and measurement tools used in dispensing procedures

Pay: £33,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
