Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time, on-site role for a Dispensing Optician/Experienced Optical Assistant located in Holywell. The role involves guiding patients in the selection of frames and lenses, advising on lens types, coatings, and fitting options, and ensuring accurate measurements for dispensing spectacles. Day-to-day tasks include supporting optometrists with patient flow, explaining prescriptions, booking and managing appointments, and assisting with pre-screening and diagnostic tests where appropriate. The role also includes providing excellent customer service, handling repairs and adjustments, maintaining stock displays, and ensuring that all interactions support a positive patient experience and high clinical standards.

- Strong knowledge of optics and understanding of optometry principles relevant to dispensing. Understanding of Welsh General Optical Services a benefit.
- Fantastic opportunity to influence products and pricing with potential support to provide Low Vision services.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction and high-quality customer service.
- Experience supporting eye exams and working within an optometry or optical practice environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain clinical information in clear, patient-friendly language.
- Attention to detail in measurements, record keeping, and handling patient prescriptions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small clinical team and manage time in a busy practice.
- Basic IT skills for practice management systems and willingness to learn new tools and procedures.
