Dispensing Practice Manager Vacancy - Wiltshire (Multi-site role)

We are looking for an experienced Dispensing Practice Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of one of our practices, whilst continuing to work hands-on as a dispenser. This is a key role within Haine & Smith. You will be responsible for delivering an exceptional dispensing and patient experience, while leading and developing your team and ensuring the smooth, efficient and compliant running of the practice. You will work closely with the Partners and Leadership Team to ensure the practice delivers high standards of patient care, customer service and business performance.

About the Role
What You’ll Be Doing
Practice Operations & Patient Experience
- Deliver exceptional patient care and tailored eyewear recommendations across a wide range of prescriptions.
- Manage adjustments, repairs, collections, and overall dispensing in compliance with industry legislation.
- Maintain high practice standards in cleanliness, stock control, health and safety, and daily workflows.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to drive local community initiatives and practice growth.
Leadership & Team Performance
- Lead, motivate, and develop the practice team, fostering a positive working culture.
- Oversee recruitment, appraisals, goal-setting, and ongoing staff training.
- Drive practice KPIs, customer satisfaction, and repeat business while aligning the team with business objectives.
- Partner with the Leadership Team to support ongoing commercial growth.

What We’re Looking For
Role Requirements: GOC-registered Dispensing Optician OR an experienced Optical Dispenser comfortable dispensing independently across complex prescriptions.
Leadership & Management: Proven experience managing a team (or strong demonstrable leadership capability) with a track record of meeting business targets.
Core Skills: Outstanding customer service, strong communication, commercial awareness, and excellent organisational skills.
Flexibility: Approachable, professional, and willing to support neighboring practice locations when needed.
