Dispute Resolution Solicitor
Location: Westminster, London
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience + up to 10% bonus
We are working with a well-regarded law firm based in Westminster, who are seeking a Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with around 1–2 years' PQE to take ownership of their own caseload while working closely with experienced partners on a broad range of high-quality chancery litigation matters.
The team acts for businesses, institutional and charity clients, and private individuals, with particular expertise across property, commercial and probate disputes. The work is varied and often complex, with matters handled across the FTT, County Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of litigation matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial, with appropriate partner supervision.
- Advising on a broad range of property disputes, including landlord and tenant matters, possession claims, dilapidations, service charges, boundaries, easements, restrictive covenants, adverse possession, TOLATA and FTT claims.
- Handling commercial disputes including contractual claims, debt recovery, partnership and shareholder disputes, and professional negligence.
- Supporting contentious probate and trusts matters, including will validity challenges, Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims, and executor and trustee disputes.
- Drafting statements of case, witness statements, applications, correspondence and instructions to counsel and experts.
- Advising clients on the merits, costs and risks of their position, including funding options and costs budgeting.
- Advising on and participating in ADR, including mediation and without prejudice negotiations.
- Attending court hearings, conferences with counsel and client meetings.
- Managing case deadlines, billing, time recording, work in progress and disbursements.
- Supporting business development initiatives, including client seminars, articles, networking and wider marketing activity.

The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate and around 1–2 years' PQE, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience in property litigation, with a good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and their practical application.
- Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident dealing directly with clients and able to explain complex legal issues clearly.
- Well organised, commercially minded and able to manage a varied caseload and competing deadlines.
- A collaborative team player who is keen to take ownership of matters and develop their technical and client-facing skills.
- Experience of contentious probate or trusts, acting for charities, institutional clients or SMEs, and County Court advocacy would be advantageous.
