Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious solicitor with 3-5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our growing Dispute Resolution team in Exeter. The successful candidate will manage various matters, provide strategic legal advice to clients, oversee junior staff, and support the business with complex matter disputes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer looking to join a small team in Exeter and to help promote the success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of litigation matters
- Advise clients on dispute resolution strategies, risks, and potential outcomes.
- Draft pleadings, applications, witness statements, correspondence, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
- Attend and represent clients at hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations where appropriate.
- Instruct and liaise with counsel, experts, and other third parties.
- Review and analyse evidence and disclosure documentation.
- Ensure compliance with court procedures and litigation deadlines.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering high levels of service.

Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- 3-5 years PQE with litigation experience.
- Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
- Experience handling a range of commercial, civil, property, or employment disputes.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong client care and relationship management abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Desirable:
- Experience of mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
- Experience managing matters from inception to resolution with minimal supervision.
- Business development experience and a commercial mindset.
