Distribution Associate
Purpose of the Job
To support the development of key broker relationships for The Hartford Global Speciality International, working in conjunction with the International Head of Distribution and Distribution Account Manager to deliver on strategic objectives and plans across all business lines.
Reporting Relationships
Reporting directly to the Head of Distribution, Global Specialty International.
Job Responsibilities & Competence
- Execute broker engagement activities following established procedures and work instructions.
- Set up tactical activities that support the team's day-to-day goals.
- Assist in the delivery of business development activity across all lines of business by the Distribution team and Underwriters in broker interactions.
- Provide market insight and broker intelligence through research and analysis to support Underwriting and Distribution decision making, enabling The Hartford to successfully respond and navigate external developments.
- Support the delivery of agreed broker plans and account management activity, ensuring consistency in approach and documentation.
- Assist in identifying potential opportunities and supporting the coordination of internal stakeholders to progress these opportunities.
- Support the monitoring of broker performance against agreed strategies and assist in reporting activity for internal forums and reviews.
- Prepare materials and data to support Underwriters and Distribution colleagues in broker meetings and external engagements.
- Maintain accurate records of broker engagement, pipeline activity, and data quality across systems and reporting tools.
- Contribute to key growth initiatives and projects, including participation in activities related to new business lines, Digital Trading and Portfolio Solutions.
- Support the promotion of The Hartford brand through professional interaction with brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Make routine decisions regarding meeting coordination, material preparation, and follow-up actions. Apply standard methods and prior experience to resolve day-to-day operational issues.

Key Accountabilities:
- Support delivery of profitable growth (GWP) with distribution partners.
- Support structured engagement and identification of new business opportunities.
- Support account management across designated brokers under the direction of Distribution leadership.

Qualifications and Capabilities
- 1+ years of experience in insurance, distribution, or broker management
- Ability to build and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
