Distribution Coordinator
Location: Pontypridd, South Wales
Salary: £27,500
About the Role
Yolk Recruitment is proud to be supporting a leading organisation within the construction materials sector in the search for a Distribution Coordinator to join their busy operations team based in Pontypridd.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business where you'll play a vital role in coordinating customer orders, scheduling deliveries, and ensuring customers receive a first-class service. You'll work closely with planning, commercial, and production teams in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service experience looking to develop a career within logistics and distribution.
What You'll Be Doing
- Answering inbound customer calls and emails, delivering a professional and friendly service.
- Processing customer orders accurately using internal systems.
- Scheduling and coordinating deliveries in collaboration with the planning team.
- Keeping customers informed of delivery times and proactively communicating any delays.
- Taking ownership of customer enquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
- Handling customer complaints professionally and escalating where appropriate.
- Monitoring orders through to completion to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Processing customer payments and maintaining accurate records.
- Working closely with commercial, production, and haulage teams to ensure orders are fulfilled.
- Supporting general administration and providing assistance across the wider distribution team when required.

What We're Looking For
- A professional and confident telephone manner.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive attitude and excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
- Previous experience within logistics, transport, aggregates, asphalt, or construction materials would be advantageous, but is not essential, as full in-house training will be provided.
