About the Role:
The Operative, Distribution (W2) performs warehousing and distribution tasks to ensure merchandise flows efficiently through the distribution center. This role executes shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, stacking, picking, packing, and palletizing activities following established procedures. The Distribution Operative works under moderate supervision to support the daily production plan and maintain quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Distribution Operations
- Execute daily warehousing tasks including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and loading merchandise
- Stack, palletize, and organize products according to standard operating procedures
Order Fulfillment
- Pick and pack orders accurately to meet customer requirements and shipment deadlines
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while ensuring product integrity
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper documentation and system updates
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory activities
Safety & Quality
- Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a safe workplace
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures for all distribution activities

Equipment Operation
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners
- Perform basic maintenance checks and report equipment issues
Housekeeping & Organization
- Maintain workplace housekeeping standards and organize work areas
- Support 5S principles and visual management practices
Problem Solving
- Identify and report operational issues or discrepancies to supervisors
- Apply problem-solving techniques to address routine distribution challenges
Impact
- Contribute to team productivity and the completion of daily production plans
- Support quality, cost, and delivery objectives through reliable task execution

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles in the United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, or Spain. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however, the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.

Salary Range:
25,353.25 GBP to 29,717.75 GBP #LI-SC1
