From £47,780, 10% annual bonus potential, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising with service and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Distribution Support Manager who will work directly alongside the Lead Distribution Manager to lead the operation at Royal Mail’s biggest Vehicle Operating Centre (VOC) whilst supporting Royal Mail’s largest automated parcel facility. Not only will you be responsible for the day-to-day performance of VOC operation but there will be opportunities to be involved in developing and trialling new technologies and assets to enhance the overall national distribution operation.
About The Role
- You will be working closely with operational stakeholders at the Midlands Super Hub (MSH) to ensure an excellent and efficient service for our customers along with running a wider linehaul operation across the national network.
- You will be part of team of 18 managers and over 450 employees and will play a key role in creating a culture where people feel supported, engaged and empowered to perform at their best.
- The role will require flexibility to be able to work evenings, nights and weekends shifts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements applicable to all fleet/trucks –holder of O’ Licence for site.
- Build effective stakeholder relationships including pipeline colleagues, customer teams, fleet, assets and agency suppliers.
- Develop and deploy of actions to ensure legal and RM standards compliance inclusive of Safety, Quality, Legal compliance.
- Utilise balanced scorecard/Key performance Indicators review site performance and create robust plans to close performance gaps with have team utilising continuous improvement tools.
- Manage individual and team performance with performance management activity in place for all TOM’s, including 121’s and Personal Development Plans.
- Ensure all distribution/VOC management systems are complied with i.e. Vision, Joined Up and LINK.

About You
To be a success in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate strong industry experience and working knowledge of Logistics and Distribution operations, delivering results across a balanced scorecard. You also have:
- Knowledge of safety requirements and accident investigation.
- Knowledge of UK road transport legislation, ideally be Certificate of Professional Competence qualified (normally in this role you would need to attain within 12 months).
- A good understanding of Network Planning tools, Royal Mail policies and processes.
- Experience of using VOC management systems.
- Strategic planning and project management skills, data/budgetary analysis skills.
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and excellent influencing skills.

Next Steps
