Job Description

Distribution Trainer

Salary: £42,922 plus £1,500 attendance bonus
Hours: 45hrs per week
Schedule: Working any 5 days from 7- flexible working hours which will be discussed at interview
Location: Portbury

Brakes are looking for a Distribution Trainer to join us at our Portbury Depot to support the on-site teams. You will form part of the Transport department's training team, working alongside several shareholders in a varied role. From training our drivers in the classroom, to on-road assessments and training.

As Distribution Trainer you’ll be a people person with the ability to inspire and train our new drivers in line with Brakes Induction Training. Providing ongoing support to complete probation reviews with our new starters. We will look to you to conduct morning briefs when any changes in legislation/policies occur. You'll ensure all our drivers receive refresher training before their expiry date by keeping accurate training documents up to date adhering to new process with captured data entered within a training cycle/matrix.

As Distribution Trainer you will be responsible for the completion of Manual Handling Training for Distribution staff. You’ll also be responsible for accident reduction and behavioural monitoring whilst also carrying out driver assessments when required.

Your working hours will be predominantly day shift; with requirements for flexibility where required to cover the department's training needs across all shifts, including nights where required. You will need an eye for accuracy, HGV2 licence, Digital Tachograph Card, Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) ideally with recent HGV driving experience (preferably multi-drop experience) and ROSPA; AET is required for the role and a class 1 license would be beneficial.
