Diversity & Inclusion Lead
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Location: Leeds
Working Arrangement: Hybrid, with flexibility to work from office and client locations as required
Contract: Part-time, 2 days per week
Overview
Our client is a growing digital consultancy seeking a Diversity & Inclusion Lead to work alongside the Head of People and drive its diversity, inclusion and belonging agenda.
The role will lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s strategy and action plan, using data and insight to measure progress and inform priorities. You will advise leaders and the wider People team, support employee communities, review policies and practices, and help embed inclusive approaches throughout the employee lifecycle.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong influencing skills, sound judgement and the confidence to provide both constructive challenge and practical support. The successful candidate will ensure diversity and inclusion priorities support both the organisation’s people objectives and wider commercial goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the organisation’s diversity, inclusion and belonging strategy and associated action plan.
- Analyse workforce diversity data across the employee lifecycle to identify trends, priorities and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate employee surveys and monitor and report on diversity and inclusion performance.
- Advise the People team on inclusive practices and initiatives, including activity focused on addressing pay gaps.
- Support recruitment teams in developing and maintaining inclusive recruitment practices.
- Review organisational policies, processes and working practices from an inclusion perspective.
- Support policy and process development to ensure legal compliance and encourage best practice.
- Develop managers' and employees' knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to diversity and inclusion.
- Design and deliver internal awareness sessions, events and development activities.
- Chair the internal diversity and inclusion forum.
- Coach and support employee-led communities and networks.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues responsible for social value, including supporting accurate and regular data reporting.
- Build external relationships and partnerships through relevant events and initiatives.
- Present complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- Influence senior leaders and colleagues without relying on direct authority.
- Use data and insight to support evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.

Requirements
- Experience developing and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion strategies and initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of diversity and inclusion principles, relevant legal requirements and recognised good practice.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to influence effectively without direct authority.
- High levels of empathy, emotional intelligence, cultural competence and resilience.
- Ability to coach others while balancing support with constructive challenge.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and insight to drive decisions and improvements.
- Confidence presenting, facilitating and networking.
- Experience communicating complex information to a range of stakeholders.
- Pragmatic and sensitive approach to challenging established thinking and working practices.

Candidates should be based within reasonable travelling distance of one of our client’s UK offices and be prepared to work from an office or client site when required. Due to the nature of the consultancy environment, some roles may involve working on-site for at least two days per week, depending on client requirements.
